I think this weekend is going well so far. Cait's soming over tomorrow to "study". Hopefully we wil at least find the courage to open the dread PreCal notebooks. No shopping with Heather, due to the massive snowfall and and slush encrusted roadways, but Cait and I are going to combine efforts to create a kids' goodie basket. $20 at Ocean State goes a long way when it comes to brush-tipped markers, coloring books, tiddly-winks and other awesome colorful things. I can't wait.

After much coercing and compromising, and chores and sulking, Dad let me go over Miles' house last night. From 4:41 till 8:38 I was in absolute euphoria. We watched Lord Of The Rings, Two Towers ((which I am obviously not intelligent enough to understand. I can't tell an Orc from that beastly winged thing. Who can really tell the difference between Sauron and Samoron anyway. And it figures that two out of the three females in the entire movie look exactly alike as well, which only leads to more confusion, as one is a princess or something and swoony over the dirty brown-haired fellow, and the other is a witch, I think Miles said. I spent a good portion of the movie saying things like "Are they good guys, or bad guys?" "Haven't they done enough fighting already?" and "ugh, that looks gross, why is everything in this movie charred, decaying, or encrusted in slime?"))

Other than my blatant incomprehension, it was a lovely evening. His dad and I got along famously
~haha, I when I called the McRae residence yesterday afternoon, his dad answered the phone:
"Hello! Second base!"
me: Hi! Is Miles available?"
"Sure, hold on, he's on third base!"
me:"Ok, thank-you"

It was snowing when they drove me home, and it was so pretty outside. Everything was white opal and the Christmas lights glittered through the snow. I told Miles how we'd drive home from my grandparent's house at night when we were little, and Chels and I would stay awake, looking at all the houses covered with lights and with plastic nativity scenes in their yards. I still get excited when its snowing at night and the houses are decorated. Its nice to know some things never change.

Cait and I talked on the phone last night for 2 and 1/2 hours after I got home. It was one of the best conversations we've had in a long while, certainly one of the most amusing. So amusing in fact, I had to take notes so I could write about it later:

Cait: "Wouldn't it be funny if we all had flippers?" "Well ruffle my feathers and call me Georgie" "Don't move a muscle, I'm gonna shoot", and my personal favorite, "DAD! Stop twitching!!"

Well, I think I'm going to go back to spending the day in my bed reading Briget Jones' Diary and listening to Ella Fitzgerald. Mmmm...I love snowy days.

Have a damn good weekend.
