okay, this is a post that I wrote two days ago, but couldn't post cause mom was on the phone till forever, so Im finally posting it now:
I have spent the past two days sleeping late, spending hours with my family~ talking and laughing and regaling each other with tales of adventure and mishap, watching Casablanca and Its A Wonderful Life, and spending time with some of my favorite people. Its been absolutely divine. I was thrilled that everyone thoroughly enjoyed their gifts...ahh, Martin, a true outlaw with a belt that hot. One might say it is Hot as Hell. I hope Birkelah finds as much amusement in the TMBG CD as I do, and I can't wait for Cait to read books 2 and 3 so we can revel in the melodrama. Oh, and Miles loved his shirt, God bless Trista for help on that one.
And I must say that my bracelet is absolutely beautiful.
Ok, now that I have made one truly indulgent comment about that, I'm going to brag about Caitlin. We exchanged gifts yesterday, and she is amazing. She found my favorite song online, after much searching I'll wager because its rather obscure, and burned it for me. Its all I've listened to...I love it. And theres more. Cait filled a jar with slips of paper, and on each paper there was a memory of ours...going all the way from styrofoam cups in preschool to "I believe the correct term is..." and "get your ugly mitts off my agenda". Its one of the nicest things I have ever gotten before. And not only that, but she got me an Audrey Hepburn calendar and the neatest picture-frame-rotating-cubes contraption...quite spiff, all of it. I wore my silver ring and hairclip today, and my blue lightbulb is dazzling in my front window.
Tomorrow, with any luck, I will be seeing Miles and then babysitting my two favorite kids in the world. Saturday Nan and Papa are taking Chels and I to Boston...they gave us a membership to the Museum of Fine Arts for Christmas and we'll be stopping by Newbury Street as well. Mmmm... I'm also thinking I should give Martin and Birk a call, see if we can't get together. And I imagine Heather will be randomly appearing at my home any day now.
I think Cait was right. This Christmas was wonderful, much better than some prior. My heart goes out to those who are disagreeing with that right now, beloved Martin, but I am praying for you. We love you Molly. Please know that.
