"waking up is never what it seems" I have made negative progress on my summer reading essay. I've thought of at least five different scenarios, but them I write them off because they're mundane or overdone or may express the "teen angst cliches" we're so specifically trying to avoid, Mr. Haskel. So I'm going to spend most of today, as lovely as it is outside, infront of my computer hoping for some lyric-related inspiration.
We had a pretty good time at the beach house over the weekend. I didn't really go on the beach much, but the house was lovely. I had to stay downstairs to keep the dog from barking, Miles slept on the couch. We spent most of the night out on the deck facing the harbor, with all its lights on the water and the midnight fisherman that kept Kelsey awake. "Beautiful. Amazingly beautiful." I'm going to miss him so much.
Chris Olson: So are you looking forward to going back this week?
Me: Oh yes. I love school.
I really just miss theatre though. I miss the auditorium and the costume closet ("Please God, when I open these doors, please let there be no dead bodies inside. Amen.") I miss rehearsals and the threats from various directors. Sound checks and wood floors and flats and disposible makeup brushes. "Born to be an amateur actor" But its just so much fun.
