Baby Ive been here before Ive seen this room and Ive walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you Ive seen your flag on the marble arch But love is not a victory march Its a cold and its a broken hallelujah Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.... Well there was a time when you let me know Whats really going on below But now you never show that to me do you But remember when i moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was hallelujah Well, maybe theres a god above But all Ive ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you Its not a cry that you hear at night Its not somebody whos seen the light Its a cold and its a broken hallelujah

how was my Christmas? we ate chocolate and lipgloss and dad came home and mom and dad got in a fight and he took off in his car and I stood in the driveway and watched him drive away. I came back and mom was crying and I gave her a hug and she broke away and went to see how Chelsea was. He was gone half an hour , we didn't know when he was coming back, and he sat in the loveseat, and mom made us come sit in the livingroom and I couldn't look at him because I didn't was to scream or sob or anything. We got ready to go, the problem all along, and we picked Miles up and waited ten minutes while I talked to his dad and pet his cat. Miles was wearing khakis. We got to plymouth and brought in all the presents we didn't open without dad and helped nan carry things down the stairs and we sat on the couch. Miles said to me that was the first place we ever hung out, just the two of us, and we smiled on of those knowing smiles that would scare mom to death. Dad cooked dinner and didn't look me in the eyes and we had a conversation about foods that grow underground. We opened presents and kept missing the part in A Christmas Story when the boy sticks his tongue to the flag pole. We cleaned up and had the pie that nan made with all 18 apples. The Sound of Music was on, Miles fell asleep on the couch and I read my play and we stayed until after the part with the puppet show. We drove home looking at christmas lights. Miles held my hands in his to keep me warm and kissed me on my forehead when I told he what happened. We dropped him off and he gave mom a Christmas card. We got home, changed into the pajamas my grandmother had sent us, and fell asleep watching the VonTrapp Family Singers.

The rest of vacation:
I slipped on the front walk and dad learned how to beat me at Connect Four.
We made prank phone calls and I told a bedtime story to my two teenage sons.
We went extreme sledding and talked about love.
Five purses, five pairs of shoes, three sweaters, three lace shirts.
I quizzed myself on Sex and the City trivia.
I lied fourteen times.
I read Siddartha, two Get Fuzzy books, a Fasionista's Guide, three sets of board game instructions, and a Glamour magazine.
Dad apologized.
some of the most terrifying wonderful things happened and I'm not sure what to say
I watched all the episodes of The Real Gilligan's Island.
I fell asleep with Miles three times.
I watched Garden State, Stepford Wives, Anchor Man, and my dad's favorite episode of The Twilight Zone.
I also watched two people get high. As a journalist, I was sworn to secrecy.
We I talked and asked questions and drove off the road in the slow-motion.
Ate pizza five times. Steak twice. Chocolate every day.
Did none of the homework for Breen's classes.
Babysat for 12 hours.
Wrote in my redbook compulsively.
Spent $152.

everyone was kissed.
I hope you got what you wanted for Christmas.
