through the rabbit hole
all the bus drivers yell eat me

it's a funny thing, public transportation. I've read the articles in the herald about the charlie dissent and the trash policies, but I'm just a country girl and I like riding backwards, knees bent and one hand on the rail. I've always been able to find my way to the green line and keep my balance in theatre dress, but today...I had one stop to decide and I took the adventurous route.
I ended up walking around the rotary outside of wonderland, looking for "lappens" and the bus to salem. two phone calls and another $1.25 later, I was back on the blue line giving out the number I know so well and reading carroll. I caught the 4:00 and by half past I was being sneered at by yet another bus driver. I don't trust them anymore so I walked home, wishing my sunglasses were bigger and promising that I'll never play alice again.
