two fire alarms today, rumor has it another possible tonight.

I'm listening to Edith Piaf and thinking of urns. Emptying out the shop yesterday they lined the trash barrels up and I thought yes strange darkness yes and hummed Padam. I miss that show. it was a phenomenal show. melissa always talks about paradise lost and I laugh to myself everytime.

still working on my "personal essay" for rod kessler.

Grandmom taught us words like ferhoodeled (forgetful) and dopplich (clumsy), which quickly became loving insults among the great-grandchildren. My sister and I were particularly fond of the phrase gristlich hessa (grumpy underwear), and made quite the impact back at home when Mom called my grandmother to find out what we were saying.

they finally lowered the heat. but now I can see the blue tips of my nails through the cracks in the polish.
